Eachangadu

Eachangadu lies between Kelambakkam and Thiruporur town, just inland from OMR. Its closest neighbours are Illalur and Thaiyur. All three fall in Thiruporur Taluk, the same taluk that holds Siruseri SIPCOT IT Park.

The easiest way to find the area is to head for Wonderla Chennai at Illalur. Godrej Brookstead Estate sits right next to the theme park, close to Eachangadu Village. Its full address is Illalur, Thiruporur, Chengalpattu, near Eachangadu Village, Tamil Nadu 603110.

You can reach the area by road from three sides, which makes site visits simple.

From OMR: drive south past Siruseri and Kelambakkam towards Thiruporur. Wonderla Chennai is the landmark to look for. This is the main route for people coming from Sholinganallur and Navalur.

From ECR: take any link road west towards Thiruporur. ECR sits about 8 km from the project, so the drive takes 15 to 20 minutes.

From GST Road: use the Vandalur to Kelambakkam Road. It brings you from Tambaram and Vandalur to Kelambakkam, and then on to the site.

City buses run often between Kelambakkam and the rest of Chennai. Cabs and autos are easy to find near Wonderla and Kelambakkam. Once the metro reaches Siruseri SIPCOT, you will have one more way to travel.

Land near the inner OMR has become scarce and costly. So buyers who want a gated plot at a fair price now look past Siruseri and Kelambakkam. Eachangadu and Illalur sit in this next ring of growth. Four factors make them stand out.

A known landmark: Wonderla Chennai opened at Illalur in December 2025. It brought a ₹611 crore investment, 43 rides and about 1,000 jobs to the area. Most people in Chennai now know how to reach this spot.

IT jobs within reach: Siruseri SIPCOT IT Park is 15 km away, and Sholinganallur is 18 km away. That keeps office travel easy for families who work on OMR.

Two coastal roads: OMR and ECR both lie close by. You get IT access on one side and beaches and Mamallapuram on the other.

Branded investment: Godrej Properties bought the 47 acre site off OMR in June 2026. It paid for the land outright. Large developers usually bring better roads, drains and security to a new belt.

Daily needs matter as much as the plot itself. People here use the shops, schools and clinics of Thaiyur, Kelambakkam and Thiruporur town.

Education: IIT Madras runs its 163 acre Discovery Campus at Thaiyur. It is a hub for large research projects. Kelambakkam and Padur on OMR also hold several schools and engineering colleges.

Healthcare: Chettinad Health City on Rajiv Gandhi Salai in Kelambakkam runs a large teaching hospital. Smaller clinics and lab centres serve Thiruporur town and Kelambakkam.

Leisure: Wonderla Chennai sits next door with a large water park and thrill rides. The beaches of ECR and the old stone temples of Mamallapuram make easy weekend trips.

Culture: The Kandaswamy Temple at Thiruporur is one of the best known Murugan temples near Chennai. It draws large crowds during festivals like Kanthasashti.

Several projects will cut travel time for people who live around Eachangadu.

• Chennai Metro Phase 2: Corridor 3 runs from Madhavaram to Siruseri SIPCOT along OMR. CMRL has targeted the Sholinganallur to SIPCOT stretch for 2027.
• OMR bypasses: TNRDC has planned six lane bypasses at Kelambakkam and Thiruporur. They will let traffic skip both crowded junctions.
• Kelambakkam bus depot: about 10 acres at Thaiyur are set aside for a new MTC depot and terminus.
• Peripheral Ring Road: the planned Singaperumalkoil to Poonjeri section will link GST Road with ECR.
• OMR road work: in July 2026, widening began on a 2.5 km stretch from Siruseri SIPCOT to Padur.

When these works finish, Eachangadu will feel much closer to the city. Buyers who enter early often gain the most from such changes.

Do you need to move in next month? Then a ready flat closer to the city may suit you better. A plot here works best when you can plan a few years ahead.

Village belts like Eachangadu have both approved layouts and risky land deals. A few checks keep you safe.

• Buy only in a layout with DTCP or CMDA approval.
• Check the patta, chitta and a 30 year encumbrance certificate.
• Visit after rain to see how the roads and plots drain.
• Drive to your office at peak hours to judge your real commute.
• Get every charge, including stamp duty and club fees, in writing.
